Louis-Philippe Kerkhove got his start as a researcher and teaching assistant at Ghent University, where he earned his doctorate in 2016. Nowadays, he is Professor of Operations Management, conducting research and teaching supply chain management. He also instructs the data-driven retailing courses at the FEB academy and is a regular guest lecturer at various other institutions including Vlerick and Hogent.
Outside academia, Louis-Philippe co-founded Crunch, an analytics agency with offices in Ghent and Rotterdam, and special expertise in retail, working for some of Europe's largest retailers - as well as top regional brands. The most important experiences from the first seven years he has summarized in a book "Data-Driven Retailing: A Non-technical Practitioners' Guide.", published in 2022. While many advanced techniques are used as a part of projects at Crunch, the ultimate goal remains simple: Improving decision making by relying on data and algorithms.
